Cleveland, Here We Come!

It's time...Gay Games 9 in Cleveland, Ohio begins!
 

SFST will have two SFST identified teams that we know of now, both competing in the competitive class on Lightenings. That is SFST team Lightning Bug, skippered by Cleveland and Edgewater Yacht Club (our hosts) alum and experienced Lightning racer who also owns a Lighting, Beth Richard from El Dorado Hills with crew Suzi Conroy of Avon Lake, OH as Tactician, Ando Jones of Fulton, NY as port forward and Gay Games sailing veteran Heather Stewart of San Mateo, CA as starboard forward. The other SFST team is the Oakland Wave Riders. This team is made up of three veteran GG sailors and one excited newbie! Skipper is Jan Crosbie-Taylor, her wife Dorothea Crosbie-Taylor of Oakland, Chloe Arnold of Oakland and Christy Leffall from Berkeley.

There should be at least one other Bay Area contingent sailing in the recreational class on Tartan 10s being skippered by Sarah Benjamin. Also see a SFST Sydney alum and medal winner Suna Kneisley from Sacramento on the list too. Don't know their team names quite yet, but when we do, I'll let you know!

Due to their involvement and sponsorship for sailing at GG9, Tartan Yachts is also hosting a website www.rainbowregatta.org. They may post regatta updates, but I don't know for sure. Whatever the live update situation is, be sure to visit again for the recap and pictures! :)
